A new testimony from the Immuno-Hematologic Laboratory, Århus University Hospital.
Managing Biotechnician Karin Meyer reporting.
Yet another year we have been praised by our long term partner, HDL at the Århus University Hospital, in the Annual report. The following excerpt from ”Årsberetning Hæmodiagnostisk Laboratorium 2008” (in Danish) contains the experiences.
”……"Late in 2007 HDL started using the new lab system ”IHL database” and 2008 was the year that would show whether the system was reliable. In the light of the many IT-scandals in Denmark we feel privileged since there has been no downtime on the system. The reason for this is no doubt the LDB Desktop framework from our supplier Langtved Data. But also the fact that specifications are made by the end user and followed by development and test have contributed to the system's success. Our thorough knowlegde of the software has meant that we cannot help asking for new improvements and further development. This is to a large extent done by close cooperation with Langtved Data that also has an interest in improvements and further development. The design of the system makes it easy to add new modules and in 2008 we received funds from the Regional Equipment Fund for a new Molecular Biology module and a Chimera module. The many new versions have necessitated the establishment of of a test system so that all new versions are real-life tested before they are put into production. With the new ”Cancer Initiative” we have been faced with a requirement for shorter response times which have not been possible with the Danish Postal Service, however with assistance from the Regional IT department we established external access to the system from The Hematological Department at Aalborg Hospital and the Childrens department at Skejby Hospital. This is no doubt a functionality that we will further develop with our other work partners."
